Welcome to Soul Kitchen Holmfirth

Soul Kitchen is a Music & Pop culture themed diner/restaurant in Holmfirth near Huddersfield, serving (amongst other things!) American BBQ food favourites Pulled Pork & Beef cooked low and slow (24hours marinated, 12 hours braised in fact!) fried chicken & char-grilled burgers & dogs with milkshakes, waffles & sundaes.

Soul Kitchen is Holmfirth’s original gourmet burger joint, started in 2012 by Sally & Michael Bell to bring something different to the Holme Valley, which already has a plethora of Curry, Italian & Tapas restaurants.

The brief is simple, supply locally & the best quality then produce as much food as is insanely possible in house. Bringing a taste of the best street & comfort foods.

  • Burger to Bap
  • Ketchup to Pickle
  • Dog to Desert   …every thing is home made.

Fab, fun & funky is the order of the day, there’s no limitation at Soul Kitchen, whether it’s a shake after school or an evening out with family, friends or the one you love, a party, young or old everyone is welcome, we have built a reputation as the place to go if you’re bored of the mainstream.

Richard ‘RT’ Taylor & Mark ‘SleepforDinner’ Harrison, a pair of local lads, spent many hours and much blood, sweat and tears producing our wall art – a montage of various iconic music, film and TV logo’s spanning the past 40years – a real talking point!

A business, with a conscience!

We currently employ 3 apprentices & have a vision at Soul Kitchen, we aim to create a food & drink training enterprise that offers ‘on the job training’ with the ability to gain qualifications in an informal educational environment. Formal education doesn’t work for everyone & the number of young people registered as NEET’s (not in education employment or training) goes a long way to prove this. The long term view sees us offering more training opportunities, hopefully expanding the number of our apprentices to feature both front of house & kitchen based schemes.

We are proud members of the Nationwide Caterers Association.

We are also active members of the Holme Valley Fair Trade group & source many of the products we use from Fair Trade sources

Holme Valley Fair Trade is a group of individuals from around the Holme Valley working together to promote Fair trade and encourage people to shop local, think global.
